Taylor ... yeah, he's pretty cool.
18mm 1/800 f/22 ISO 800I know, I should have lowered my f-stop a couple stops so I could have taken this with a lower ISO. Such is the life of an inexperienced photographer doing something quickly he has never done before. I don't even remember what awful train of thought lead to me increasing the ISO like that on such a bright day. Oh well, live and learn.
My lovely wife is holding my SB600 high camera right, zoomed in all the way, at full power, as close as possible to Taylor's face without being in the frame. If you can't tell, Taylor is standing directly in front of the sun.

John and LoriAnn

So one of my friends got engaged and asked me to do their engagement photos. While this has happened before, this is the first time I 'yes'; instead of, 'I'd love to, but I just don't think I'd do a good enough job.' My confidence level for producing pictures on the spot, on demand had not been very high.
Luckily my sister-in-law had asked me to take her bridals a while ago, which won't happen until next month, and this gave plenty of time to psych myself up. So when my friend asked me I thought to myself, 'Why not? Come on, you can do this.'
These are the two finalist from the shoot. It turned out to be tons of fun and I would totally love to do it again. Both of these had a strobe through a white umbrella camera right.
